The Birmingham City Disabled Supporters Club was formed in 1995 with just 6 members. In April 2002 we were granted charity status (No. 1091740) and the membership now stands at over 90 members.
We work closely with Birmingham City Football Club to improve the needs of disabled supporters. The players recently sponsored a Race Night at the Club; visits are arranged to the training ground and we use the facilities at St. Andrew’s for events throughout the year.
We have expanded our social activities to include coach trips, quiz nights, and have an annual Christmas Dinner at St. Andrew’s.
During the football season we hold meetings on match days and also run a “Player of the Season Award. This is presented to the winning player at the penultimate home game of the season and a selected disabled supporter presents this to the player and receives a replica.
You do not have to be disabled to join our supporters club and details of how to join are on the Membership Page.
We are always looking for volunteers for members with a disability who like to attend games but need some assistance. There are often occasions when their normal carer, friend or family member have other commitments and in these circumstances would be unable to come to St. Andrew's.
We hope to have the opportunity to welcome new members to our club where we enjoy good company and lots of laughs despite the result!
